Direct Dimensions uses new F5 Scanner to Scan World Trade Center Artifact for the Maryland 9/11 Memorial

This spring we had the honor of 3D scanning and modeling the steel beam artifact from the downed WTC in NYC to help create Maryland's 9/11 Memorial. The memorial will be located adjacent to Baltimore's own WTC and will be dedicated on Sept. 11, 2011. Our effort supported the design firm Ziger/Snead and the Maryland State Arts Council.

Recap of our Involvement in SME RAPID and 3D Imaging 2011 Conference this past May

We recently returned from the SME RAPID and 3D Imaging 2011 conference where Direct Dimensions was, as always, highly involved. Our President Michael Raphael was again a Conference Advisor for 3D Imaging, presented the Plenary for the 3D Imaging industry, and also on our use of 3D imaging for architectural and infrastructure documentation. We also had DDI technicians demonstrating the F5 and ShapeShot imagers for full body and face scanning.

Direct Dimensions to show F5 3D Scanner at the CMSC 2011 Conference in July

Coming up in late July in Phoenix, AZ at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel, Direct Dimensions will be featured at the annual Coordinate Measurement Systems Conference. We highly recommend that anyone in the industrial 3D metrology field attend. We will be demonstrating the new F5 scanner and Michael Raphael, serving his 2nd year on CMSC Executive Committee, is responsible for coordinating the technical presentations.
